  • Base 1
  • Base 2

What to Do

  1. Pick up base 1 and base 2
  2. Add a little bit of base 1 into base 2.
  3. The two liquids will react and form a white substance called precipitate.
  4. After 5 minutes, the entire precipitate settles down.

Working Principle of Salt Formation Experiment :

In this experiment when we mix two clear liquids, they react and result in the formation of a white solid, this type of reaction is called a precipitation reaction, the white solid formed is called “precipitate “and the liquid that causes the solid to form is called “precipitant”.

Further, the precipitate free liquid that remains above the solid is formed is called “supernatant”.
