Dry Ice Soap Bubble Tower – Experiment with Dry Ice

Dry Ice Soap Bubble Tower is a friendly and bubbly science experiment for kids to do at home which explains how dry ice reacts to warm water and soap. In this experiment, we are going to use dry ice and have a tower of white soapy bubbles in a cylindrical flask!

Working Principle of Dry Ice Soap Bubble Tower :

Dry ice is solid carbon dioxide and when it is added to warm water it turns into carbon dioxide gas instantly. Dry ice turns directly into gas without going through the liquid state, a process called sublimation. So, when it is added to a solution of soap and warm water, the solution starts ‘bubbling’ and you have soap bubbles filled with carbon dioxide and water vapour inside!

These bubbles look white due to the gas inside! The bubbles start climbing up very fast and you can build a tower of soap bubbles. Try bursting the bubbles and you’ll see the gas popping out!
