Images & Step by Step for Instructions for Experiment
Step 1:Fill the bowls with water and add different food colors.
Step 2: Pour the solution to a colour palette.
Step 3: Add Sodium Poly-acrylate (gel Polymer) to each groove.
Step 4: Keep Adding water to make the snow mountain grow.
Step 5: It will Keep on growing as you keep adding water
Step 6: You can also make it in a cup with all different colors.
Working Principle of Snow Mountain Experiment :
In this experiment the polymer used is Sodium polyacrylate (gel Polymer). It is also known as waterlock. It has the ability to absorb as much as 200 to 300 times its mass in water. When we add the gel polymer to water in the color palette, the gel polymer absorbs all the moisture. As you keep adding water the gel polymer starts growing. As you add water the polymer grows to 100 times the original size. By the end of the absorption of water you have a fluffy colorful snow mountain to play with!
