Batman Car

Step 1: Make a mark at 12cm from one end of the skewer.
Step 2:Make marks on the skewer at 2.5cm from both ends.
Step 3:Roll around 5-6 rounds of teflon tape on the inner side of the mark on skewer.
Step 4:Observe the popsicle which has smaller & bigger holes at different ends.

Batman Car Step 5: Insert the skewer through the smaller hole of the popsicle.
Step 6:Wrap the teflon tape on the skewer to sandwich the popsicle in between.
Step 7:Similarly, attach the other popsicle on the other end of the skewer.
Step 8:Mark 1cm from both ends on the skewer.
Step 9:Apply araldite paste on the marks using a skewer.

Step 10: Roll 5-6 rounds of teflon tape around the centre of the screw.
Step 11:Insert the screw through the bearing in the blue pulley till it gets jammed.
Step 12:Take out the belts and use a ruler to find one measuring around 9 cm.

Batman Car

Step 13: Place the belt around the blue pulley.
Step 14:Apply fevicol along the non parallel sides.
Step 15:Place the motor between the two holes.
Step 16:Place the clamp over the motor.

Step 17: Attach the snap connector to the battery
Step 18:Place the motor base over the chassis.
Step 19:Pull the motor base till the belt is tight.
Step 20:Take a popsicle and mark 3cm from both the ends.

Step 21: Flip the motor base and line the popsicles with fevicol.
Step 22:Finally slip the belt on the pulley.
Step 23:Give your Batman Car its own look!

Working Principle of Batman Car :

In this experiment, we build a batman car using pulleys. There are two pulleys in the car. One is a driving pulley and the other is a driven pulley. The drive pulley is much smaller than the driven pulley. The rotation of the driven pulley depends on the number of rotations of the driving pulley.  Driving pulley is the one attached to the motor which makes the batman car move.  The size of both the pulleys can be varied to give the desired speed to the vehicle.

You can also try and vary the size of the pulleys one at a time. As the size of the driving pulley increases the speed increases.

Let’s make this car and experiment with it more!
